We like to think that we have some control over our lives. We work hard, we plan ahead, and we try to make smart choices. And for the most part, this approach works out pretty well. But the truth is, no matter how careful we are, nothing in life is guaranteed.
And today we will be demonstrating just that to give you more reasons to live life to the fullest while you can and spend money on yourself, prioritize your happiness and enjoyment and love yourself more!
This is why nothing in life is guaranteed:
1- You don’t know if you’ll stay healthy:
You cant guarantee that you’ll stay in good health. you have no control over what might happen to you, despite your best efforts to stay in good shape, your fate might be different. You might get sick, or be involved in an accident. You just never know.
You can try to take care of yourself, eat right, and exercise, but there are no guarantees. Even if you do everything right, something could still go wrong. The same is true for other aspects of life. You can’t guarantee that you’ll always have a job or a roof over your head. In fact, even if you got all these things under control, the point is that a health issue might come out of nowhere.
We try to guarantee that your relationships will last by resorting to marriage, and we try to guarantee that we’re irreplaceable at work and that our job is guaranteed by getting promoted. We even try to guarantee that we’ll always have food to eat by investing and saving. We try to guarantee that we’ll always have a roof on top of our heads by paying mortgages even at crazy interest rates.
But in the end, none of that can truly be guaranteed because you cannot guarantee that you’ll be in good health to enjoy it all. You can’t even guarantee that you’ll be alive next week. You can only assume and hope for the best. Life is unpredictable and uncertain. The only thing you can do is to live each day to the fullest and do your absolute best to stay healthy.
2- You cannot predict the future:
At any moment, our plans can be upended by an unexpected event. A natural disaster can destroy our homes. A global pandemic can keep us locked up at home against our will for months and years. A layoff can leave us without an income. An accident can leave us with a debilitating injury.
The fact is, life is full of surprises, both good and bad. And no matter how much we prepare, we can never be completely certain of what the future holds. Indeed, we might like to think we have control over our lives. We might want to plan and prepare, we try our best to avoid anything that might go wrong.
But the truth is, we can’t predict the future. No matter how much we try, we cannot know what will happen tomorrow, next week, or next year. While it’s important to be prepared for the unexpected, we must also accept that nothing in life is entirely guaranteed.
We can do everything right and still have things go wrong. It’s a risk we take every day, but it’s also what makes life worth living. After all, if everything was guaranteed, predictable, and expected, where would the fun be?
3- You don’t know what situations life throws at you:
You never know what life is going to throw at you. One day you’re cruising along and everything is great and the next you’re faced with a whole new set of decisions to make that will alter your life entirely.
Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, someone enters your life and changes all your plans. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Just as long as you always have the possibility to turn the page and start a new chapter when you find yourself in the wrong story or scenario. and, that’s just how it goes.
There are no guarantees in life, so you might as well enjoy the ride. Who knows where you’ll end up.
4- There are too many factors to control:
We can’t predict the future and that’s a fact; but that’s also because no matter how hard we try, there are some things that are just out of our control. But that doesn’t mean we should give up hope. Just because something isn’t guaranteed doesn’t mean it’s not worth fighting for.
The idea is not to feel sad that we can’t be in control of all. The idea is not to try so hard to be in control of all situations in life, to begin with. We have to remember that life can be unpredictable in a very good way too.
So while you must be worried about your finances today, you might not give up and find a good side hustle by next year that will change your financial life. And even though you might look a lot and still not find anything worthwhile, at least you would’ve tried. That means you gave yourself the chance to open a door for a different future that would’ve not been possible otherwise.
The bottom line is that while the outcome may not be what we wanted or expected, it’s still worth going after our dreams, within reason. Because who knows? Maybe, just maybe, we’ll get lucky and everything will work out even better than the way we have planned. After all, stranger things have happened.
Bottom line:
No matter how hard you work or how much you plan, there are always going to be surprises. That’s why it’s so important to enjoy the moment and not take anything for granted.
Just because you have a good job or a comfortable life right now doesn’t mean that it will always be that way. Sooner or later, everyone has to face adversity. But you shouldn’t necessarily adopt such a bleak and negative philosophy of life. You can also take the idea about how nothing in life is guaranteed and just decide to make the most out of each day and treat yourself with kindness. This way no matter what happens, you’ll be left with no regrets.
The key is to remember that life is always changing and to roll with the punches. When things get tough, just keep moving forward and know that better days are ahead.
